Dallas is at Pittston Area Thursday in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 girls track meet in which both teams take unbeaten records into the season finale, seeking to win the division title.

Both teams are 5-0 going in.

There are other championships or shares of championships at stake on a day that features five events in which first- and second-place teams go head-to-head.

Abington Heights has already clinched at least a tie for first place in Lackawanna League boys volleyball going into the regular-season finale at second-place Blue Ridge.

The Comets are 10-1 in the league and 10-3 overall. They can take the title outright with a win.

The Raiders are 9-2, both league and overall, and can force a first-place tie and playoff with a victory.

North Pocono (6-2, 7-4) will try to clinch at least a tie for first place in Lackawanna Division 2 softball when it plays at second-place Honesdale (5-3, 9-3).

Riverside (11-0, 14-0) will look to lock up at least a share of first place in Lackawanna Division 3 baseball when it plays at home against Lakeland. The Chiefs (9-2, 11-4) are part of a second-place tie.

The North Pocono and Hazleton Area boys track and field teams have already clinched at least a tie for first place and can finish as unbeaten, undisputed champions of their divisions with road wins.

North Pocono (3-0) is at Western Wayne (0-3) in Lackawanna Track Conference Division 2 while Hazleton Area (5-0) is at Wilkes-Barre Area (2-3) in WVC Division 1.

Abington Heights (7-1, 11-1) will try to maintain its Lackawanna Division 1 softball lead when it plays at second-place West Scranton (6-2, 6-2).

Wallenpaupack, the second-place team in Division 2, is at Division 1 leader Valley View in a Lackawanna baseball crossover. The Buckhorns actually have the better records at 7-1 and 13-2 while the Cougars are 6-2 and 10-5.

Two other Lackawanna baseball games match second- and third-place teams against each other in tight, multi-team races.

Second-place Abington Heights (6-3, 7-6) is at West Scranton (4-3, 4-3) in Division 1 while Mountain View (6-2, 7-6) is at Elk Lake (6-3, 7-6) in Division 4.
