A portion of the District 2 boys tennis team tournament quarterfinals was postponed from Monday to Tuesday.
Among the matches postponed is the Class 2A match sending fifth-seeded Wyoming Seminary (7-2) to fourth-seeded Honesdale (10-3).
The match could be the closest of the quarterfinal pairings. Although District 2’s playoff ratings formula has Honesdale ranked higher and therefore seeded higher and hosting the match, the Riverfront Sports Super Six Power Rankings of District 2 teams has Wyoming Seminary ranked sixth and Honesdale seventh.
In baseball, Nanticoke (4-3 in the division and 7-4 overall) is at Lake-Lehman (7-1, 9-1) in a game matching two of the top three teams in both Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 and the District 2 Class 3A playoff seeding race.
In girls track and field, Wyoming Area (4-1) is at Lake-Lehman (4-0) with the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 title on the line. The winner clinches at least a tie for the division title with Lake-Lehman in position to ultimately win it outright if it can get past second-place Wyoming Area.
In boys volleyball, first-place Holy Redeemer (8-0, 12-1) travel to face one of the teams tied for second place when it plays at Crestwood (6-1, 6-4).
