Monday’s rain is making the busiest day of the fall sports season to date challenging.
Golfers are already on the course at the two tournaments that started this morning, but some of the season-opening girls tennis matches scheduled for this afternoon have already been postponed.
All the Wyoming Valley Conference teams are in action at the Tom Tryba Memorial Tournament at Fox Hill Country Club and the Lackawanna League girls are playing in the Bob Simons Classic at Elmhurst Country Club.
Despite morning showers and forecast of more rain coming in the early afternoon, both tournaments have gotten underway.
Monday is the first legal Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association playing date for girls tennis this school year. Both the Lackawanna League and Wyoming Valley Conference had planned full schedules.
