An early Lackawanna League girls tennis showdown highlights an interesting Tuesday schedule in District 2.
Abington Heights is at West Scranton in a rematch of the District 2 Class 3A championship match from a year ago.
The Comets won that match, 3-0, but the Lady Invaders had leads in the two matches that were halted with the outcome decided.
Abington Heights is ranked first among Big Schools and West Scranton second in the Riverfront Sports Girls Tennis Super Six Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
West Scranton returns its entire lineup from a year ago while Abington Heights brings back much of its team.
There is another high-profile match in the Lackawanna League.
Riverside, the top-ranked Small School in the Super Six, is at North Pocono, which is 2-0 and ranked third among Big Schools.
The Riverside golf team (3-0) also has a big day.
The Vikings play a morning Lackawanna Division 2 match against West Scranton at 11:25 at Pine Hills.
Then, in the afternoon they head to Glenmaura National to face Scranton Prep in a non-league match between defending Lackawanna division champions.
Scranton Prep is listed first among Small Schools in the Scranton Golf Center Super Six Power Rankings. Riverside is ranked fifth.
