In boys soccer, unbeaten Wilkes-Barre Area (3-0 overall) is at defending champion Crestwood (1-1) in a WVC Division 1 opener for both teams.

In boys golf, the Lackawanna League Division 1 title could ultimately be decided in the match that sends North Pocono (5-0-1) to Glen Oak Country Club to face Abington Heights (7-0-1). The teams tied in an earlier meeting at Elmhurst Country Club.

In girls volleyball, two of the top three teams in Division 2 of the Lackawanna meet when Mountain View (2-1, 3-2) plays at Lackawanna Trail (2-0, 2-1).

Lackawanna Division 1 matches include first-place Blue Ridge (2-0) at defending champion Western Wayne (1-1, 1-3) and Dunmore playing its season opener at North Pocono (1-1, 2-1).

In cross country, the Lackawanna got in one of four cluster meets Wednesday and the WVC conducted just one of five that were scheduled.
