Top 4 teams dominate early going

Last season’s final top four teams in the final Riverfront Sports Boys Lacrosse Power Rankings of District 2 teams have dominated in the early stages of this season, combining for a 13-0 start in which they have outscored opponents by a total of 228-51, an average of 13.6 goals per game.

That start has allowed the same four teams to hold down their positions from a year ago in the first rankings of this season, which were released Sunday night.

Wyoming Seminary, the District 2 Class 2A champion and a state quarterfinalist, opens the season No. 1. The Blue Knight shared the Wyoming Valley Conference title last year with No. 2 Delaware Valley and No. 3 Crestwood.

Scranton Prep is No. 4.

Dallas replaced Lake-Lehman in the last spot in the five-deep rankings with the help of a 14-12 victory over the Black Knights. The Mountaineers have lost only to No. 2 Delaware Valley.
