Abington Heights added a District 2 Class 3A title to its Lackawanna League championship, allowing the Comets to hold down the No. 1 spot in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Boys Volleyball Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
The latest rankings were released Thursday morning, following Abington Heights’ district title match sweep of Delaware Valley Wednesday night.
The rankings are the same as a week ago.
Tunkhannock is second, followed by Blue Ridge, Berwick, Holy Redeemer and Delaware Valley.
Wyoming Valley Conference champion Tunkhannock had its season end in the District 1-2-11 Class 2A Subregional quarterfinals, but the Tigers did take a set off of Southern Lehigh, the team that swept Blue Ridge in the semifinals.
No. 3 Blue Ridge and No. 4 Berwick meet Thursday night for the subregional’s third spot in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 2A state tournament.
Holy Redeemer had its season end with a quarterfinal loss to Berwick.
Delaware Valley’s district championship game loss to Abington Heights was also its season finale.
