Unbeaten Warriors continue climb

Wyoming Area continued its steady climb through the Riverfront Sports Elite Eight Boys Tennis Power Rankings of District 2 teams, rising to fourth this week as it prepares to put its unbeaten record on the line in a championship battle.

Abington Heights held on to first while clinching a Lackawanna League title repeat. The new rankings were posted early Saturday afternoon.

Defending champion Dallas held second going into its match at Wyoming Area Tuesday for the Wyoming Valley Conference title.

Holy Cross used a breakthrough win over Scranton Prep to finish second in the Lackawanna League and remain third in the rankings.

Wyoming Area won twice and passed Scranton Prep, trading places with the Cavaliers while taking over fourth.

Valley View, Wyoming Seminary and Tunkhannock remained in the sixth, seventh and eighth positions.
