VOLLEYBALL: Bulldogs, Royals, Knights post victories in WVC

Andrew Blockus had 10 service points and 39 assists Thursday to lead Berwick past Delaware Valley in four sets in a Wyoming Valley Conference boys volleyball match.

Berwick won by scores of 25-18, 25-20, 22-25, 25-18.

Hunter Madl, who had 15 digs, and Graham Marshman, who had 10 digs, had 13 kills each for Berwick. Blaze Croop had 16 digs.

The Bulldogs moved into third-place in the 12-team league with a 3-2 record.

Delaware Valley dropped to 2-2.

Holy Redeemer moved into a tie for first place with Tunkhannock at 4-0 with a straight-sets victory over Nanticoke.

The Royals won, 25-18, 25-19, 25-15.

Matt Prociak led the way with 18 kills, 5 blocks, 4 service points and 2 aces.

Dan Marinelli added 12 kills, 2 blocks, 6 points and 2 aces. Charlie Floryan had 27 assists, 11 points and 3 digs. Chris Durko added 10 points.

Josh Hornlein had six digs, three kills, three blocks and two aces for Nanticoke. Brady Rushton had 11 assists and 3 digs.

Lake-Lehman posted its first WVC victory with a sweep of Wyoming Valley West.

Blue Ridge swept Elk Lake to remain a half-match ahead of the pack in the Lackawanna League.

Connor Cranage had 23 kills and 4 blocks as the Raiders downed the Warriors, 25-16, 25-18, 25-7.

Abington Heights swept Forest City to improve to 3-0 in the league.

North Pocono swept Mountain View for its first league win.
