Tristan Lee scored 34 points and grabbed 18 rebounds Feb. 24 when sixth-seeded West Scranton won on the road for the second straight time, knocking off second-seeded Dallas, 78-72, in a District 2 Class 5A boys basketball overtime game.
The Invaders, the only District 2 basketball team lower than a fifth seed to get out of the quarterfinals, ended the season for the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 champions.
West Scranton overcame a seven-point halftime deficit.
Evan Laybourne-Boddie scored 8 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter to get the Invaders into overtime. He also finished with 10 assists, 9 rebounds and 4 steals.
Chris Ogden had 7 of his 15 points in overtime when he made all four of his free throws.
The win sent West Scranton into the district final and qualified the Invaders for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association state tournament game.
Lee kept the Invaders close by scoring 28 of his points in the first 3 quarters.
Once West Scranton got the game into overtime, the Invaders took the lead then made 11 of 12 free throws. Laybourn-Boddie was 3-for-4 while Lee and John Keeler were each 2-for-2.
Darius Wallace scored all 10 of the Dallas points in overtime to lead the Mountaineers with 22.
Jude Nocito had 14 of his 20 points in the first half for the Mountaineers. Michael Bufalino added 17 points, including 10 in the first quarter.
