West Scranton boys join rankings

The swimming season is slowly getting started with only 8 meets – all of them wins – by the 12 teams that opened the season in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Swimming Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

Therefore, movement is minimal in the first update to the rankings.

Tunkhannock moved up from sixth to fifth and West Scranton joined the rankings as the sixth boys teams in the only changes in the rankings, which were released Wednesday afternoon.

The top-ranked Delaware Valley boys and Dallas girls are among the teams that have not yet opened their seasons.

Delaware Valley is followed by Dallas, Wyoming Seminary and Hazleton Area.

West Scranton moved in the rankings with a 2-0 start, including a more decisive victory over Elk Lake than the one posted by Scranton Prep, which fell out of the rankings after beginning the season in fifth among boys teams.

The Dallas girls are followed by Wyoming Seminary, Scranton Prep, Tunkhannock, Delaware Valley and Valley View.

The two Wyoming Seminary teams are the only other 2-0 teams in either the Lackawanna League or Wyoming Valley Conference.
