WVC softball all-star game scheduled to be played Saturday

Rosters and coaches have been announced for the 41st annual Robert L. Dolbear Senior Girls All-Star Softball Game, which is scheduled for W.W. Kubis Memorial Field in Dallas Saturday at 6 p.m.

The game, sponsored annually by the Kiwanis Club of Dallas, features recent graduates from Wyoming Valley Conference programs.

The rain date is Sunday at 6 p.m.

The East will be coached by Hanover Area’s Chris Slusser and Gary Williams as well as Wyoming Area’s John McNeil. Berwick’s Emily Johnson, Steve Lapchak and John McDaniel will coach the West.

Two players each from Hanover Area, Nanticoke, Wilkes-Barre Area and Wyoming Area, plus one player from Crestwood will make up the East roster.

Kasidy Slusser and Mollie Corbett will represent Hanover Area; Emily Brown and Olivia Nice from Nanticoke; Alexa Semanek and Erin Leonard from Wilkes-Barre Area; Stephanie Nowak and Kaitlyn Slusser from Wyoming Area; and Molly Truszkowski from Crestwood will play for the East.

Berwick, Dallas and Wyoming Valley West each have four players on the West team that also includes a single representative from Lake-Lehman.

Emily Novicki, Hannah Hess, McKenzie Waltman and Katie Starr will represent Berwick; Karlee Peters, Samantha Adamski, Kiley Hardin and Courtney May are the Wyoming Valley West players; Kaci Hockenbury, Julia Kocher, Sidney Thomas and Maddie Major are the players from Dallas Dallas; and Sommer Zier-Norris is the Lake-Lehman selection.

Six more players had the honor of being selected for the game, but are not available to play in it. Olivia Wolk, Gianna Gombeda, Julia Mrochko, Catilyn Katchur and Julia Mooney are the Dallas players. Bernadette Lieback from Pittston Area was also chosen.
