Jackson Wydra threw two long touchdown passes and Parker Bolesta ran for three scores Friday night as Dallas defeated visiting Pittston Area, 35-12, in a District 2 Class 4A football quarterfinal.
Wydra found Zach Paczewski for an 89-yard touchdown in the second quarter and Joe Peters with a 60-yard touchdown pass in the third. The two big plays gave Dallas a 21-0 lead and helped him finish 10-for-15 for 262 yards.
Paczewski caught 4 of the passes for 133 yards, Peters 2 for 78 and Rocco Ormando 4 for 51.
Bolesta had 103 of the 118 Dallas rushing yards on 21 carries. He opened the scoring with a 2-yard run in the first quarter.
After the Wydra touchdown passes, Bolesta ran 20 yards for another score and a 28-point lead. He added a 24-yard run in the fourth quarter between Pittston Area’s two touchdowns.
The Patriots scored on 1-yard runs by Drew DeLucca and Adam Lazar.
DeLucca went 14-for-22 for 121 yards passing, Robby Barbieri had 5 catches for 53 yards and Harry Pugliese carried 16 times for 71 yards to lead the Pittston Area offense.
Jake DelGaudio had seven tackles, including one for a loss, and three assists to lead the Dallas defense. Matt Esposito and Ryan Cuba were each in on 11 tackles.
Paczewski had an interception.
Dallas (8-2) uses its sixth straight win and its fifth straight by at least 22 points to advance into a semifinal home game against North Pocono (9-2).
Pittston Area finishes 3-8.
