Wyoming Area and Honesdale moved up while Wallenpaupack moved into the latest Riverfront Sports Elite Eight Wrestling Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
The new rankings were released late Friday afternoon between Wednesday’s semifinals and the weekend finals of the District 2 Dual Meet Wrestling Championships.
Finalists Lackawanna Trail, Abington Heights and Delaware Valley held the first three spots.
Wyoming Area and Honesdale, the other finalist, each moved up one spot to fourth and fifth.
Hazleton Area dropped from fourth to sixth.
Wyoming Valley West held seventh.
Wallenpaupack replaced Western Wayne in eighth.
Unbeaten Lackawanna Trail completed a perfect Lackawanna League Division 2 season then rolled into the district Class 2A final, which it will host against Honesdale.
Abington Heights finished its Lackawanna Division 1 championship, then won twice to make the Class 3A final, which it will host Saturday against Delaware Valley.
Delaware Valley won twice to make the Class 3A final.
Wyoming Area won in the Class 2A quarterfinals at Montrose as the lower seed before falling to top-ranked Lackawanna Trail. The WVC Tournament and Division 2 champions Warriors led after 8 of 13 bouts against the Lions.
Honesdale won twice in the district tournament to get to the final.
Hazleton Area, the WVC Division 1 champion, was eliminated from team dual contention with its loss at home to Delaware Valley as the second seed facing the third seed.
Wyoming Valley West won in the quarterfinals before losing to Abington Heights.
Wallenpaupack joined Wyoming Area as fifth seeds that defeated host fourth seeds in district quarterfinals.
The Buckhorns replaced Western Wayne, the former No. 8 team, which dropped out after a semifinal loss to Honesdale.
