The City roster went through significant changes as preparations begin to heat up for the 88th annual Scranton Lions Club Dream Game, presented by Northeast Rehab.
Hours before Media Night, which was conducted Monday, Dream Game chairman Bill Dempsey released the updated City roster with six players from the original roster dropping out and six new ones replacing them.
The game, featuring recent graduates of Lackawanna Football Conference teams, is scheduled for July 20 at 7 p.m. at Valley View’s John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium. The stadium also served as host site for Media Night.
The newcomers included two players each from Dunmore and Scranton.
Wide receiver Keiran Reyes and guard/linebacker/defensive end Joe Marzzacco are the Dunmore players while defensive back/quarterback Arvel Chandler and two-way tackle Kareem Jefferson are the Scranton players.
Wallenpaupack wide receiver/defensive back Jeysson Reales and Scranton Prep two-way lineman Kellen Doughton are the other newcomers.
The players no longer on the team include three from Scranton Prep – Penn State walk-on Robert Rossi, Jimmy Burke and Adam Kenny.
The others withdrawing from the game are Lackawanna Trail two-way lineman R.J. Schirg, Scranton wide receiver/cornerback Antonio Hairston and West Scranton defensive back/wide receiver Justin Gockley.
