Scranton Prep’s London Montgomery suffered a serious knee injury in Saturday’s scrimmage and the Penn State-bound running back is expected to miss his senior season, according to multiple sources and reports.
Montgomery, a Class 3A all-state selection, announced his commitment to Penn State this summer.
Scranton Prep is the defending District 2 Class 3A champion and is ranked among the top 10 teams in the state in its classification after also winning a Lackawanna Football Conference Division 2 title last season.
Montgomery was the only player in District 2 to rush for more than 2,000 yards and score more than 200 points last season. He also played in the defensive backfield and was injured while playing defense.
