Champions
Delaware Valley, Dallas and Lakeland each won both District 2 and regular-season division titles.
Delaware Valley and Dallas won the top division of each conference and the two largest enrollment classifications.
The District 2 Class 4A title went to Lackawanna League Division 1 champion Delaware Valley.
Dallas won the District 2 Class 3A title along with the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 championship.
Lakeland won District 2 Class A and Lackawanna League Division 2.
Other champions were: Holy Redeemer in District Class 2A; Lake-Lehman in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 and Forest City in Lackawanna Division 3.
State struggles
All four District 2 champions lost in the first round of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association state tournament.
Delaware Valley and Dallas lost 1-0 games to Nazareth and Northwestern Lehigh.
Holy Redeemer drew eventual state champion Allentown Central Catholic in the first round and lost, 6-0.
Lakeland was the only team to score, but it lost, 6-1, to Moravian Academy.

Lackawanna Division 1: Delaware Valley 12-2, Abington Heights 11-1-2, Wallenpaupack 9-5, Valley View 7-6-1, Scranton Prep 6-7-1, Honesdale 4-9-1, North Pocono 4-9-1, Scranton 0-14.
Lackawanna Division 2: Lakeland 14-1, Montrose 12-2-1, Western Wayne 10-4-1, Dunmore 10-5, Mountain View 8-7, Holy Cross 5-10.
Lackawanna Division 3: Forest City 5-7-2, West Scranton 5-8-1, Mid Valley 3-9-2, Scranton 2-9-3, Carbondale 1-13.
WVC Division 1: Dallas 9-2-1, Wilkes-Barre Area 9-3, Wyoming Valley West 8-3-1, Berwick 7-4-1, Crestwood 5-6-1, Hazleton Area 2-10, Pittston Area 0-12.
WVC Division 2: Lake-Lehman 11-1, Wyoming Area 10-2, Holy Redeemer 8-4, Nanticoke 7-5, Wyoming Seminary 4-8, Hanover Area 1-10-1, Tunkhannock 0-11-1.
Playoffs
All four district titles were decided in one-goal championship games.
Delaware Valley beat Wyoming Valley West, 1-0, in Class 4A. Dallas beat Abington Heights in Class 3A; Holy Redeemer defeated Lake-Lehman in Class 2A; and Lakeland defeated Montrose in Class A, all by 2-1 scores.
Holy Redeemer pulled off two of the four games in which a lower seed beat a higher seed.
The third-seeded Royals beat second-seeded Wyoming Area, 1-0, in the semifinals before beating top-seeded Lake-Lehman.
Dallas won Class 3A as the second seed.
Nanticoke was the only road winner during the quarterfinal round. The fifth-seeded Trojanettes beat fourth-seeded Western Wayne, 1-0, in Class 2A.
Power Rankings
Dallas and Lakeland finished as the top teams in the final Riverfront United Super Six Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
Dallas led the Big Schools, followed by: No. 2 Delaware Valley, No. 3 Abington Heights, No. 4 Wyoming Valley West, No. 5 Wilkes-Barre Area and No. 6 Berwick.
Lakeland led the Small Schools, followed by No. 2 Lake-Lehman, No. 3 Holy Redeemer, No. 4 Wyoming Area, No. 5 Montrose and No. 6 Nanticoke.
Noteworthy
Wilkes-Barre Area forward Krystal Haerrter, Nanticoke forward Alexis Atkins, Lakeland forward Nadia Gill, Wallenpaupack forward Abby Kimler and Delaware Valley midfielder Sydney Bolles were Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association all-state selections. … Gill, who scored 44 goals, and Kimler were the only underclassmen in the group. … The Class 4A tournament was actually a subregional, including District 4 member Williamsport. Delaware Valley defeated Williamsport, 4-1, in the semifinals.
