Hockenbury, Pucilowski finish best among D2 runners at invitational

Nick Hockenbury from Lake-Lehman, Anna Pucilowski from Abington Heights, the Dallas girls team and the Honesdale boys team were the top finishers from District 2 Saturday during the PTXC 13 Invitational on the Farm Course at Kutztown University.

Hockenbury’s time of 16:46.2 on the 3.1-mile course was good for second place in the field of 183 runners in the Varsity Blue Boys race. Ryan Bickhart from Milton won in 16:40.9.

Abington Heights teams competed in the higher-level Gold races while the remaining District 2 teams ran in the Blue races.

Pucilowski was third out of 123 Gold entries, finishing in 19:03.8.

Lillian DiCola from Hatboro-Horsham won in 18:46.7.

Dallas was second out of 20 teams in the Varsity Blue Girls race, finishing behind only Lewisburg, 105-120.

All five District 2 teams entered finished in the top half of the Varsity Blue Boys field.

Mendham beat out Montgomery, 86-91, for the team title.

Honesdale was fourth with 159 points.

Dallas was eighth with 299, Scranton Prep ninth with 307, Holy Cross 10^th with 309 and Lake-Lehman 12^th out of 26 with 333.

Aidan LaTourette led the way for Honesdale, placing eighth.

Bryce Phillips from Dallas was 11^th, Logan Novobilski from Honesdale was 17^th, Aidan Cotter from Dallas was 25^th, Luke Healey from Holy Cross 32^nd, Lucas Murray from Honesdale 37^th, Paul Reiprich from Honesdale 44^th, Colin Comerford from Scranton Prep 45^th and Teddy Novak from Holy Cross 49^th.

Abington Heights was ninth out of 14 teams in the Varsity Gold Boys with 240 points.

Saint Anthony’s ran away with the team title, 30-108, over Cumberland Valley.

Liam Hagerty from Severna Park won in 16:16.9.

Tommy Walsh led Abington Heights placing 29^th in 17:23.1.

Nicholas Booth was 43^rd, Sean Rooney 52^nd and Alex Duffy 53^rd for the Comets out of 97 runners.

Madison Hedglin led the strong team performance by the Dallas girls, taking fourth out of 153 runners with a time of 19:53.6.

Lewisburg freshman Baylee Espinosa was the Varsity Blue Girls winner in 19:30.7.

Lake-Lehman’s Hannah Sayre finished seventh while Honesdale’s Brenna Dahlgren was 10^th.

Alana Palmaioli from Lake-Lehman was 13^th, Megan Kretschmer from Honesdale was 15^th, Sarah Williams from Dallas was 16^th, Olivia Thomas from Dallas 29^th, Carly Schofield from Scranton Prep 32^nd, Julianna Sobocinski from Dallas 38^th, Erika Doran from Dallas 41^st and Julie Walsh from Holy Cross 49^th.

Honesdale was seventh, Lake-Lehman 14^th and Scranton Prep 15^th in the team standings.

Abington Heights was seventh out of 16 in the Varsity Gold Girls race with 204 points.

Hershey beat Chambersburg, 83-116, for the team title.

Reese Morgan was 45^th and Maia Arcangelo was 49^th out of 123 runners.
