Wyoming Valley West was down a set twice on the road Tuesday, but rallied to extend its girls volleyball season with a five-set victory at Wilkes-Barre Area in the District 2-4 Class 4A Subregional quarterfinals.
Chloe Orfanella had 13 kills and 4 blocks to lead the Lady Spartans to the 21-25, 25-15, 17-25, 25-23, 15-13 victory and a spot in the semifinals against top seed, host and defending champion Delaware Valley Saturday afternoon.
Orfanella also had nine service points, six aces and two digs.
Gianna Fell contributed 10 points, 8 aces, 6 kills, 4 blocks, 3 digs and an assist to the victory.
Nicole Littman had six points, nine digs, seven assists, an ace and a kill.
In Tuesday’s only other quarterfinal, Mountain View rolled over MMI Prep, 25-9, 25-9, 25-16, in District 2 Class A.
The Lady Eagles advance to play at top seed and eight-time defending champion Blue Ridge Friday night.
