LEO O’BOYLE, LAFAYETTE COLLEGE MEN

Sunday’s result
Lafayette (3-14 overall, 1-3 Patriot League) defeated visiting Bucknell (7-10 overall, 0-4 Patriot League), 74-67 in overtime.

Started, played 38 minutes; 8/11 FG, 5/8 on 3-pointers, 3/4 FT, 24 points; 3 defensive rebounds; 1 assist; 3 steals.
Notes
O’Boyle led all scorers with a career-high 24 points, shooting 72.7 percent from the floor. … Trailing 60-49 with 11:28 remaining, Lafayette went on a 13-0 scoring run to take the lead, 62-60. O’Boyle tallied nine points during the run. … Lafayette outscored Bucknell, 9-2, in the extra period to gain its first home win of the season and first conference win.

Bucknell’s Emma Theodorsson set a career-high with 23 points on 9-for-11 shooting to lead Bucknell to its first conference win. Her 23 points are the highest scored by any Bucknell player this season. … “It’s a good win for our players,” Bucknell coach Trevor Woodruff said, according to a recap posted on the university’s athletic website. “They are working hard and doing what we ask of them. You can see the improvement.”
