Three championship teams and a once-beaten, conference runner-up landed the top seeds for the District 2 girls volleyball tournament, which starts Thursday night.
Full pairings and schedules were released by District 2 through its website Thursday morning.
Unbeaten Wyoming Valley Conference champion Delaware Valley is the top seed in Class 4A, a four-team tournament.
Lackawanna League divisional champions Western Wayne and Blue Ridge are the top seeds in the five-team Class 2A and A tournaments, which open Thursday night. Western Wayne won Division 1 while Blue Ridge won Division 2.
Berwick, which finished second to Delaware Valley in the WVC and has District 2’s second-best overall record at 12-1, is the top seed in Class 3A, which is an eight-team District 2-4 subregional tournament. Athens is the only District 4 team to make the field.
The finals will be in doubleheaders, Nov. 3 at North Pocono and Nov. 4 at Wilkes-Barre Area. This will be the debut of the gym at the new Wilkes-Barre Area High School as a District 2 championship site.

Records are through Wednesday and the close of qualifying for the district tournament. Some teams may still play make-up matches that will not count toward district seeding.
