Ron Blake ran for three touchdowns in the first five minutes Friday night to get host and top seed East Stroudsburg South out to a 22-point lead on the way to eliminating Wyoming Valley West, 52-26, in the District 2-11 Class 5A Subregional semifinals.
Blake’s fast start included touchdowns of 53 and 51 yards. The Cavaliers led 30-7 after one quarter, 44-20 at halftime and 52-20 after three quarters.
Isaiah Cobb did his best to try to keep the Spartans in the game, carrying 32 times for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Lucas Zdancewicz passed to Nick Giza for the other Wyoming Valley West touchdown.
The Spartans lost their last six games to finish 3-8.
East Stroudsburg South (8-3) will host Whitehall, a 43-14 winner over Southern Lehigh, in the subregional final.
