The girls soccer season came to an end for District 2 teams Tuesday when all four district champions fell in the first round of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association state tournament.
Dallas applied pressure late in each half, but fell short at home against Northwestern Lehigh, the second-ranked team in the state in Class 3A, 1-0.
The rankings, determined in a Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association poll, had Dallas ranked ninth.
Dallas finished in double figures in shots and led in corner kicks, 7-3.
Delaware Valley also suffered a 1-0 loss at home, falling to Nazareth in Class 4A.
The Small Schools had a rougher time.
Allentown Central Catholic shut out Holy Redeemer, 6-0, in Class 2A and Moravian Academy downed Lakeland, 6-1, in Class A.
Joan Clauss-Walton scored for Lakeland with 10:53 left, making it 5-1.
