The North Pocono School District honored John Sutkowsky for 50 years of service to the athletic program prior to Wednesday night’s varsity boys basketball game against Abington Heights.
Sutkowsky joined the North Pocono faculty in 1972 and retired in 2006.
During his teaching career, he had a long run with the baseball program, including a decade as varsity head coach. He also offered his expertise to the softball program, which he later coached.
Following his coaching days, Sutkowsky has remained active in the athletic department, serving as an official scorer for the boys and girls basketball teams and the softball team.
