Friday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule saw two District 2 graduates playing.

Mount St. Mary’s (7-16 overall, 3-9 MAAC) lost at Iona (15-7 overall, 8-3 MAAC), 81-51

Notes

Tinsley’s eight rebounds were a team-high. … The Mount’s Dola Adebayo connected on a 3-pointer for the game’s first basket. Iona answered with the next 15 points to take a double-digit lead in the opening four minutes. The Gaels used an 11-0 scoring run just past the midway point of the first half and led, 48-18 at halftime. … Iona shot 60.6 percent (20-for-33) from the field in the opening half while holding Mount St. Mary’s to 32 percent (8-for-25) shooting.

Drexel used a strong second half and withstood a late run from Northeastern to record its 17th consecutive win against the Huskies. … After a slow start, Drexel used a 7-0 scoring run to take a 15-14 lead after the first quarter. The Dragons carried the momentum into the second quarter, using a 10-2 run to extend the lead. … Three Drexel players finished in double figures, led by Keishana Washington’s 29 points. It is her 55th game in a row in double figures and 16th this season scoring 20 or more points.
