Arena basketball schedule set

With Monday’s last semifinal game, the 3-day, 11-game schedule for championship basketball games at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza is all set.

Following quarterfinal and semifinal rounds devoid of upsets, top seeds will play number-two seeds in nine games and face third seeds in the other two.

The 5A through A games are District 2 championships. The 6A games are District 2-4 Subregional championships.

The schedule is:

Thursday4 p.m.Class A girls1, Susquehanna (9-12) vs. 2, Forest City (3-20)Lady Sabers seek sixth straight title.
Thursday6 p.m.Class 4A girls1, Dunmore (22-1) vs. 2, Scranton Prep (20-3)District’s top two teams go head-to-head.
Thursday8 p.m.Class 3A boys1, Holy Redeemer (20-4) vs. 2, Riverside (15-7)Tournament’s last two champions meet.
Friday4 p.m.Class 2A girls1, Holy Cross (14-8) vs. 2, Elk Lake (15-8)Holy Cross has won all five games vs. fellow 2A teams by at least 24.
Friday6 p.m.Class 6A girls1, Wilkes-Barre Area (19-5) vs. 2, Hazleton Area (14-8)Wolfpack seeks second straight three-game sweep of division rival.
Friday8 p.m.Class 5A boys1, Pittston Area (19-4) vs. 2, North Pocono (18-5)Rematch of three-point PA win in December Conference Challenge.
SaturdaynoonClass 3A girls1, Western Wayne (19-4) vs. 2, Riverside (20-4)Rematch of last year’s final that Riverside won.
Saturday2 p.m.Class 2A boys1, Holy Cross (18-6) vs. 3, Old Forge (15-8)2017-20 champion Crusaders back after missing ’21 for COVID reasons.
Saturday4 p.m.Class 4A boys1, Dallas (23-3) vs. 2, Mid Valley (21-4)Dallas on district-high, 17-game winning streak.
Saturday6 p.m.Class 5A girls1, Pittston Area (24-3) vs. 2, Abington Heights (18-6)Pittston Area from 4 wins to 24 in one season.
Saturday8 p.m.Class 6A boys1, Scranton (20-2) vs. 3, Williamsport (18-5)Knights already district champs, need win to make PIAA tourney.
