Basketball league senior all-star games began and ended with a pair of 30-point performances.

Kylie Lavelle from Riverside scored 35 points and grabbed 15 rebounds while earning the only Most Valuable Player award available in the Lackawanna League girls game March 28 at Scranton High School.

Josian Guerra from Hazleton Area scored 32 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and make the game-clinching steal April 5 while sharing the MVP award for the winning team in the boys game of the 53rd annual Dr. George P. Moses Senior All-Star Classic for Wyoming Valley Conference players April 1 at Wilkes-Barre Area High School. He shared the award with Pittston Area’s J.J. Walsh, who hit the game-winning shot.

The senior all-star games for both leagues were conducted in doubleheaders with the girls playing first, then the boys.
