Blue Ridge climbs in only move

The teams that made up the preseason Electric City Volleyball Academy Elite Eight Power Rankings of District 2 girls teams did not lose in the first week of the season.

As a result, all eight remain in the rankings and there is just one move in the first rankings of the regular season.

Blue Ridge climbed from fifth to fourth, swapping place with Nanticoke, after a more decisive victory in a match against a common opponent, Abington Heights.

The new rankings were released late at night, following Friday’s action.

Top-ranked Delaware Valley picked up a win Friday to reach 2-0, matching the record of No. 2 Berwick.

They are followed by Holy Redeemer.

Dallas, Crestwood and Tunkhannock round out the rankings in sixth through eighth place.
