Blue Ridge, Western Wayne climb

Three anticipated Lackawanna League contenders shuffled places in the first regular-season update of the Electric City Volleyball Academy Elite Eight Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

Blue Ridge and Western Wayne move up after Western Wayne defeated Dunmore in the opener.

The rankings were released Wednesday and included results through Tuesday’s matches.

The four Wyoming Valley Conference at the top of the rankings – Berwick, Delaware Valley, Holy Redeemer and Nanticoke – went a combined 5-0 in the conference and 6-0 overall to hold their spots.

Blue Ridge and Western Wayne each moved one position to fifth and sixth.

Dunmore dropped from fifth to seventh.

Crestwood lost to top-ranked Berwick, but held on to eighth.
