Kallie Booth scored 19 points Feb. 23 when top-seeded Pittston Area turned back Crestwood, 41-30, in a District 2 Class 5A girls basketball quarterfinal.
Daniella Ranieli added 13 points in the win for the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 champions.
Ranieli had eight points in the first quarter to offset a strong start by Cadence Hiller and get the Lady Patriots out to a 17-9 lead.
Hiller did all of Crestwood’s first-quarter scoring and finished with 13 points.
The Lady Comets closed the gap to four at halftime by holding the Lady Patriots to three second-quarter points.
Booth then scored all 10 of Pittston Area’s third-quarter points to send the Lady Patriots into the fourth with a 30-23 lead.
Pittston Area held on while shooting 7-for-13 from the line in the fourth quarter. Ranieli went 3-for-4.
