Bowen leads Bucks past Chargers

Thomas Bowen ran for one touchdown and threw for another Friday night when Dunmore defeated visiting Carbondale, 17-8, in a Lackawanna Football Conference Division 3 game.

The win made the Bucks the first team to reach 2-0 in any of the four LFC divisions. They are 3-2 overall.

Carbondale fell to 0-2 and 2-4.

Dunmore did all its scoring in the first half for a 17-0 lead.

Bowen scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak in the first quarter. He threw into the end zone for a 20-yard touchdown pass to Brayden Reuther in the second quarter.

Max Hunt kicked a 37-yard field goal.

Carbondale cut the deficit to nine, but Dunmore remained in control. The Bucks were at the Chargers 21 when the game ended, giving them three straight wins since an 0-2 start.
