BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Blue Ridge downs Elk Lake, 59-49

Connor Cranage scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Tuesday night as Blue Ridge held on to a share of the Lackawanna League Division 4 boys basketball lead by going on the road and defeating defending champion Elk Lake, 59-49.

Carson Gallagher added 17 points.

J.J. Rosa grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 10 assists. Dylan Bradley had 12 rebounds.

Logan Ayotte led Elk Lake with 11 points and Blaine Burnett added 10.

The win was the fifth straight for the Raiders, the sixth-ranked Small School boys team in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Basketball Power Rankings of District 2 teams. They improved to 8-1 overall.

Forest City 64, Mountain View 34

D.J. Heath scored 23 points and Dylan Bezek turned in a strong all-around game as Forest City routed host Mountain View to keep pace with Blue Ridge at 3-0.

Bezek had 14 points, 12 rebounds and 9 blocked shots.

Montrose 55, Lackawanna Trail 31

Alex Warriner made four 3-pointers and Montrose hit a total of 11 shots from beyond the arc while winning at Lackawanna Trail to improve to 2-0 in the division.

Warriner, who had three of his 3-pointers in the second quarter, led the Meteors with 16 points. Montrose extended its lead from 13-9 to 27-13 during the quarter.

Jack Russell added 13 points and three 3-pointers.

Levi Smith hit two 3-pointers in the first quarter when Lukas Cokely had one of his two. Smith finished with nine points.

Jake Antolick scored 15 points for Lackawanna Trail.
