BOYS ROUNDUP: Comets, Knights, Cavaliers post crossover victories

Mason Fedor scored 16 of his 19 points while Abington Heights was dominating the middle quarters of Friday night’s Lackawanna League Division 1-2 boys basketball crossover on the way to a 64-50 victory over visiting Wallenpaupack.

The win allowed Abington Heights to remain tied for the Division 1 lead with Valley View. Both teams carry 10-2 records into Tuesday night when the Comets play West Scranton at Scranton High while Valley View is playing at Scranton Prep.

Wallenpaupack led 12-9 after one quarter, but Abington Heights was comfortably in front, 52-29, by the time the fourth quarter rolled around.

Fedor had 11 points in the second quarter when the Comets were busy taking a 31-19 halftime lead. Robby Lucas had 6 of his 16 points and Will Marion 5 of his 14 during the quarter.

Lucas had eight more points in the third quarter.

Justin Blanding led Wallenpaupack with 13 points while Jake Holbert had 11.

Scranton Prep 75, Delaware Valley 67

Brycen Martin scored 19 points to lead five Scranton Prep players in double figures during the win at Delaware Valley.

The Cavaliers overcame a 30-point effort by Delaware Valley’s Jake Brower.

Daniel Santaniello added 14 points for Scranton Prep while Kellen Casey had 11. Ambrose Rossi and James Pettinato scored 10 each.

Ronnie McManus scored 15 points and Chris U’Glay 14 for Delaware Valley.

Scranton 77, Western Wayne 37

Rykeese Cenord made all 9 of his free throws while scoring 18 points to lead the rout by the Knights.

Scranton led 49-22 at halftime.

Kole Conforti and P.J. Murphy added 12 points each.
