Wallenpaupack and Western Wayne each used convincing victories to move up one spot in the latest Riverfront Sports Elite Eight Power Rankings of District 2 teams, which were released Friday.
There was limited action in the past weeks as teams broke for the holiday following tournaments and COVID postponements were mixed in during the time they would have been returning.
Lackawanna Trail remains No. 1 with Abington Heights, Hazleton Area, Delaware Valley and Wyoming Area still filling the second through fifth spots.
The only action for the top five was Lackawanna Trail’s 56-6 romp over Blue Ridge and Wyoming Area’s 51-21, non-league victory over Pittston Area in a meeting of ranked teams.
The loss contributed to Pittston Area falling from sixth to eighth.
Wallenpaupack and Western Wayne each slid up a spot into sixth and seventh.
The Buckhorns defeated Scranton, 48-28.
Unbeaten Western Wayne topped Crestwood, 49-16, and Montrose, 48-22.
