While the Big School team in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Baseball Power Rankings of District 2 teams, breezed through the past week, the Small School teams were bumped off by challengers to their position.
As a result, the Big School teams remain unchanged while the Small School list has been shuffled in the latest Super Six, which was released Saturday afternoon.
Scranton Prep moved up while Dunmore and Mid Valley rejoined the Small School rankings.
The six Big School teams are intact while the top two Small Schools held their positions.
Hazleton Area and Riverside remain as the top-ranked schools.
Wallenpaupack, North Pocono, Wyoming Area, Pittston Area and Abington Heights follow Hazleton Area on the Big School list.
The six ranked Big School teams went 16-2 on the week, including Pittston Area knocking Wallenpaupack from the list of unbeatens, so that group was 15-1 when not playing against each other. The only loss came by Abington Heights in a one-run game outside District 2.
Wallenpaupack, which still has the district’s second-best Big School record and the Lackawanna League Division 2 lead, held on to the second spot.
Lake-Lehman remains second to Riverside among Small Schools.
The other four teams made up last week’s Small School list were a combined 4-7.
Scranton Prep moved up from fourth to third even though it lost twice. Both of its losses were against Big Schools.
Dunmore, which has won three straight, including two wins over Old Forge, took over the fourth spot.
Old Forge dropped from third to fifth.
Mid Valley took over sixth, beating Holy Cross.
Holy Cross lost twice and Lackawanna Trail lost once. Both fell from the rankings.
