Veteran Lakeland quarterback Dominico Spataro produced five touchdowns and Old Forge sophomore kicker booted his first career field goal to lift the Chiefs and Blue Devils to victories in games that matched the co-leaders of two Lackawanna Football Conference divisions.

Lakeland, Western Wayne, Old Forge and Riverside all entered the game with 3-0 division records. Lakeland and Old Forge clinched at least ties for first place with their wins.

Spataro ran for four scores after passing for the first to lead Lakeland past visiting Western Wayne, 35-28, in LFC Division 2.

With Spataro running the offense, the Chiefs remained unbeaten by going 7-for-11 on third downs and 2-for-2 on fourth downs.

Spataro carried 19 times for 91 yards. He hit 9 of 14 passes for 144 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown pass to Lacota Dippre.

Western Wayne led, 20-14, late in the half after forcing second-quarter turnovers at the Lakeland 25 and 32 and turning each into touchdowns.

Wildcats running back/linebacker Luke Janiszewski carried for 85 yards and recovered a fumble before leaving the game with a potentially serious ankle injury late in the third quarter with the Wildcats trailing, 21-20.

Host Old Forge turned back rival Riverside, 17-14, when Rodriguez kicked a 26-yard field goal with four seconds left in the Division 3 game.

The Blue Devils led 14-0 in the closing seconds of the half, but the Vikings rallied with Chase Taddonio and Reese Gaughan hitting each other with touchdown passes.

Valley View and Delaware Valley moved into a tie for the Division 1 lead with Scranton Prep by winning their games.

Connor Hilling ran for three touchdowns as Valley View downed Wallenpaupack, 28-7.

Delaware Valley was tied until Jayden Ramirez returned the second-half kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown to fuel a 28-14 victory over Scranton.
