This time, Abington Heights left no doubt.
Facing its closest pursuer and playing a rematch of its most difficult test of the season, Abington Heights wrapped up a perfect regular season and Lackawanna League boys volleyball championship by rolling over visiting Blue Ridge with a three-set sweep Thursday night.
Nate Steenback, one of the players being honored on Senior Night, and Nico Bossi had 10 kills each to lead the 25-12, 25-12, 25-16 victory.
The Comets, who will be the top seed in the District 2 Class 3A tournament, finished 12-0 in the Lackawanna and improved to 13-0 overall. They will be off for at least a week with a bye into the district semifinals.
Blue Ridge, which entered the night with a chance to force a first-place tie, dropped to 10-2 and 12-2.
The teams are ranked 1-2 in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

James Brust had 34 assists and a team-high 3 aces.
