Cougars streak into rankings

Valley View has won seven straight matches, the last three by shutout, to move into the Riverfront Sports Super Six Girls Tennis Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

The Cougars are part of a shuffle of the Big School portion of the rankings, which were released late Monday night.

Delaware Valley and Wallenpaupack also moved up as part of those changes.

Unbeatens Abington Heights and Scranton Prep remain the No. 1 teams.

Abington Heights is again followed by No. 2 West Scranton among Big Schools.

The entire Small School rankings remain the same with Scranton Prep, Dallas, Wyoming Area, Holy Redeemer and Tunkhannock, in order, following Wyoming Seminary.

Delaware Valley and Wallenpaupack each moved up two spots to third and fourth.

Valley View, which suffered its only loss in the opener, joined the rankings in fifth.

Crestwood dropped from fourth to sixth.

Hazleton Area fell from the rankings when it suffered its first loss against previously winless Berwick.
