Keira Dougherty scored 25 points and combined with Cadence Hiller on a fourth-quarter streak that rallied Crestwood past visiting Williamsport for a 53-49, non-league victory in the only girls basketball game involving a District 2 team Wednesday night.
Dougherty had 10 points when the Lady Comets (6-11) outscored the Lady Millionaires, 21-12, in the fourth quarter.
Williamsport led 39-35 when Hiller hit a 3-pointer to start a 9-0 run in which she had five points and Dougherty had the other four.
Dougherty’s drive with 4:52 left put Crestwood ahead. She then recovered defensively to block a layup and protect that lead.
The Lady Comets scored the last six points of the streak in 37 seconds.
After Dougherty’s block, Hiller scored on a spinning move through the lane. Dougherty then made a back-court steal and scored on a layup for a 44-39 lead with 4:15 remaining.
Hiller finished with 11 points.
Williamsport’s Alexandra Chilson and Dougherty squared off in the first quarter.
The Lady Millionaires (5-11) led 16-10. Chilson scored 13 of her 16 points in the quarter while Dougherty had 8.
