Crestwood joins rankings

Teams in the preseason Riverfront Sports Girls Tennis Super Six Power Rankings of District 2 teams went 8-0 in the first week of the season – when they were not playing each other.

That means changes are minimal in the first regular-season update to the rankings.

Crestwood joins the Big School portion of the rankings while Wallenpaupack and Scranton each slide up one spot.

The rest of the rankings, including Abington Heights being first among Big Schools and Riverside leading Small Schools, remains the same.

Abington Heights is followed by West Scranton and North Pocono, which is the only 2-0 team in the Big School rankings.

Wallenpaupack won a non-league opener and Scranton has not yet played. They move up to fourth and fifth.

Crestwood enters the rankings in sixth after splitting its first two matches with the loss coming against defending Wyoming Valley Conference champion Wyoming Seminary.

Delaware Valley dropped its opener and fell out of the rankings.

Wyoming Seminary is the only Small School team at 2-0 and is third behind Riverside and Scranton Prep.

Dallas, Valley View and Holy Cross remain in fourth through sixth.
