Crestwood takes over first

Crestwood, the top team through all of 2021, quickly regained the top spot in the Riverfront Sports Boys Lacrosse Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

The Comets opened the season in second behind Delaware Valley, but then defeated the Warriors, 7-6, to take over first in the second set of rankings. The new rankings were released early Wednesday morning.

Crestwood is the only team with an unbeaten record within the Wyoming Valley Conference. The team’s three losses all came outside District 2.

Delaware Valley slipped one spot to second. The Warriors are also second in the WVC.

Wyoming Seminary, Lake-Lehman and Dallas remained third, fourth and fifth.

Wyoming Seminary went 3-1 since the original rankings, losing only 10-9 to No. 2 Delaware Valley.

Lake-Lehman, which is tied for third in the WVC with Wyoming Seminary, is first in the race for the top seed in the District 2 Class 2A playoffs.

Dallas held on to fifth by outscoring three opponents, 52-12, since the first rankings.
