District 11 of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association released partial plans for the District 2-11 Class A Subregional boys and girls basketball tournaments through its website Saturday.
Susquehanna will travel to Catasauqua Feb. 25 at noon to meet Bethlehem Christian in one of two Class A boys quarterfinals.
The announcement by District 11 confirmed the pairings that had been projected on this website Friday, but there was also some new information.
To match its other tournaments, District 11 is using neutral courts for all rounds and the date of the boys semifinal is March 1, not Feb. 28, as projected.
Out of the two boys quarterfinal and two girls semifinal matchups that are known, only the Bethlehem Christian-Susquehanna game was assigned a site and time.
The other site and time announcements could be held until results in tournaments in other classifications in Districts 2 and 11 determine gym availability.
MMI Prep, in the Feb. 25 boys quarterfinals, and Mountain View, as the top seed in the Feb. 28 girls semifinals, are expected to be assigned a neutral gym within District 2 because of their status as the higher seeds.
Susquehanna is headed to Catasauqua because it is the sixth seed and Bethlehem Christian is the third seed.
District 11 currently lists the Class A boys final as March 4, but it is expected to be changed to March 3 at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in the event of an upset sending a lower-seeded team into the final against second-seeded Forest City or fourth-seeded MMI Prep.
