District 2 Honor Roll

The top performances in District 2 sports from the week of Dec. 20-26:

KALLIE BOOTH, Pittston Area girls basketball

Booth received the Thomas Tigue Award as Pittston Area’s Most Valuable Player in a 38-26 victory over Wyoming Area when she hit four 3-pointers and scored 18 points. She also led the team with 15 points in a 45-30 victory over Valley View.

RITA COLLINS, Scranton Prep girls basketball

Collins went 8-for-12 from the floor while scoring 20 points, grabbing 6 rebounds and making 6 steals in a 61-50 victory over Wilkes-Barre Area in a meeting of defending District 2 champions.

CONNOR CRANAGE, Blue Ridge boys basketball

Cranage helped Blue Ridge battle with two ranked teams from Lackawanna Division 3. He had 17 points when the Raiders led at the half in a loss to Holy Cross, then scored 24 points in a 62-61 overtime win over Old Forge when he beat buzzers to force overtime, then score the game-winner.

KYLIE LAVELLE, Riverside girls basketball

Lavelle had a combined 75 points, 31 rebounds and 13 steals in three wins for the Lady Vikes.

RYAN RUDDY, North Pocono boys basketball

Ruddy had 35 points and 12 assists to help North Pocono defeat two other defending Lackawanna League division champions, Riverside and Elk Lake.

VINNY TOMASETTI, Western Wayne wrestling

The sophomore 106-pounder won by pins in all three rounds of the Wildcat Duals in Athens. Tomasetti’s pins in the semifinals and finals came in the first period while helping the Wildcats take the championship.

CIERA TOOMEY, Dunmore girls basketball

Toomey went 13-for-15 from the floor while scoring 27 points and blocking 4 shots during a 57-47 victory over Western Wayne in a meeting of ranked teams and defending Lackawanna League division champions.
