Dolbear Game set for Wednesday

The 42nd annual Robert. L. Dolbear East-West Senior All-Star Softball Game for Wyoming Valley Conference teams is scheduled for Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Misericordia University’s Anderson Field.

Wilkes-Barre Area, Crestwood and Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 5A state champion Pittston Area will be heavily represented in the game.

Players from Wilkes-Barre Area, Pittston Area and Holy Redeemer will make up the East team.

Crestwood, Nanticoke, Northwest, Berwick, Lake-Lehman and Wyoming Valley West players will form the West team.

Pittston Area, coming off a 25-0 season that included WVC Division 1 and District 2-4 Class 5A Subregional titles, is represented by four players and its entire coaching staff.

Tori Para, Sage Weidlich, Skylar Borthwick and Jiana Moran are the Lady Patriots in the game. Head coach Frank Parente will lead the East team with assistance from Michael Callahan, Kim Roman, Jess Parente and Anthony Bellino.

Izzy Davies, Jenna Kasper, Dakota Leach, Lyssa Rhodes and Lael Walker will represent Wilkes-Barre Area. Jenna Santuk is the Holy Redeemer player on the team.

Crestwood’s Dave Koptcho will coach the West team. He will be assisted by Kim Petrosky from Crestwood and Kevin Harvey from Northwest.

Jessica Koptcho, Brooke Aton, Stephanie Pollock and Lauren Amend are the Crestwood players on the West team.

Nanticoke’s Ali Keener, Tiffany Brogan and Riley Baird are on the West along with Maggie Miller and Kelly Harvey from Northwest.

The rest of the team is Berwick’s Peyton Lipsey, Lake-Lehman’s Jillian Ulozas and Wyoming Valley West’s Aubrey Duesler.

The game, sponsored by the Dallas Kiwanis Club, has been moved from its usual location of the Back Mountain Little League field for this season because of scheduling conflicts with district Little League tournament play.
