Daniella Ranieli and Kallie Booth scored 19 points each Friday as Pittston Area remained unbeaten by handling visiting Wallenpaupack, 53-36, in a non-league girls basketball game between the top two teams in the ratings race for the top seed in the District 2 Class 5A playoffs.
Pittston Area (9-0) took control during the middle quarters and widened the gap in the ratings race over Wallenpaupack (6-3).
Wallenpaupack led 12-11 after one quarter, but Pittston Area got 15 second-quarter points from Ranieli and 10 third-quarter points from Booth to take a 45-32 lead.
Ella Smith led Wallenpaupack with 17 points, including 9 in the first quarter.
Erika Badner made three 3-pointers to add nine points.

Wilkes-Barre Area 31, Downingtown West 29
Host Wilkes-Barre Area shut out Downingtown West in the second quarter, then held on late to remain unbeaten.
Wilkes-Barre Area scored the game’s first seven points, but Downingtown West scored the next 14 for a 14-7 lead after one quarter.
The Wolfpack did not allow a point for almost 14 minutes until less than 5 minutes remained in the third quarter.
Natalia Credle hit two 3-pointers in the second quarter for the Wolfpack, which took an 18-14 halftime lead.
Eternity Aiken led Wilkes-Barre Area with nine points.
Blue Ridge 30, Northwest 21
Blue Ridge gave up just one first-half field goal while taking a 14-6 lead on the road.
Leigha McCain led the Lady Raiders with 11 points and Emma Button added 9.
Charleigh Miner led Northwest with 11 points.
Tunkhannock 61, Northeast Bradford 31
Lexi Corby scored 16 points to lead host Tunkhannock to the win.
Maci Iddings added 15 points and Sable Stephens 10.
Honesdale 39, Lakeland 18
Honesdale won at home in a meeting of teams trying to work through injury-related adjustments.
