Crestwood and Lake-Lehman, the top two teams in Wyoming Valley Conference girls lacrosse a year ago, each posted impressive victories when the conference season opened Saturday.
Isabella Caporuscio scored 11 goals and assisted on two others as defending champion Crestwood ran over Delaware Valley, 19-7.
Lake-Lehman routed Tunkhannock, 15-2.
Hannah Ziegler added five goals in Crestwood’s win. Julia Glowacki had 3 goals and 2 assists while Morgan Koons made 13 saves in goal.
Daisey Carney led Delaware Valley with three goals.
Madison Lasinski had four goals and an assist to lead a balanced Lake-Lehman attack which got three goals each from a trio of players.
Lilian Raczkowski had three assists to go along with her three goals. Rachel Galasso and Madison Raspen had three goals and an assist each.
Kayla Griffin scored one Tunkhannock goal and assisted the other.
Like Crestwood, Scranton Prep won in a season-opening meeting between teams that both posted winning records last season.
The Classics defeated visiting Abington Heights, 10-8.
Angelisa DeNaples had four goals and two assists to lead Scranton Prep, which shut out Abington Heights in the second half to clear the way for a rally from a two goal deficit.
Annie Johnson scored twice, including the go-ahead goal with less than five minutes left. Claire McGrath also scored two goals.
Abington Heights got three goals each from Allison Dammer and Caly Yankow.
