Holy Redeemer kept its hopes of a 15th straight District 2 girls volleyball championship alive Oct. 27 when it went on the road to defeat Dunmore in a four-set Class 2A semifinal.
Kaylee Gryboski had 19 kills, 8 service points, 5 digs and 2 assists when the Lady Royals won, 25-11, 24-26, 25-20, 25-16.
Eve Kilburn had 41 assists, 13 points and 6 digs.
Eva Szura provided 14 kills and 6 digs while Olivia Bilbow had 7 kills, 7 digs and 16 points.
Jaclyn Marichak had nine digs and Adriana Pacewicz eight assists for Dunmore. Tristan Canavan had a team-high four kills and a block.
Fourth-seeded Lake-Lehman upset top-seeded Western Wayne, the Lackawanna League Division 1 champion, in a five-set match on the road.
Lake-Lehman set up an all-Wyoming Valley Conference final in Class 2A with Holy Redeemer Nov. 4 at 5 at Wilkes-Barre Area.
The Lady Knights escaped the lengthy, tight battle by rallying from a two-set deficit to win, 24-26, 14-25, 28-26, 25-22, 15-13.
Brynn Giordano had 35 digs and Kirsten Finarelli had 8 kills for Lake-Lehman.
Katherine Shepherd had 20 kills and 5 aces for Western Wayne. Kaeli Romanowski had 40 assists and 4 kills.
