The Lackawanna League’s four division champions advanced through the quarterfinals of the Class 2A playoffs to determine the league’s representative in the district championship match.

Lackawanna Trail, the Division 3 champion and third seed in the eight-team event, shut out Dunmore, 9-0.

Michael Bluhm and Brayden Jones got the Lions off to a good start in the first foursome, winning their better-ball point, 4 and 3, and each winning in singles, 4 and 2.

Gavin June won his singles point and combined with George Duffy for the better-ball, both by 4 and 3 scores, in the last foursome.

Adam Jones and Nathan Wescott formed the other winning combination.

Lackawanna Trail will play at Division 4 champion and second-seeded Montrose, a 7-2 winner over Blue Ridge, in Tuesday’s semifinal.

The only division champion to have to go on the road, Riverside, defeated Mid Valley, 5-4.

The Vikings were the fifth seed after winning Division 2. The Spartans were the fourth seed after placing second to Lackawanna Trail in Division 3.

Riverside earned the chance to advance to face top-seed and defending champion Scranton Prep. The Cavaliers will host the semifinal Tuesday after beating Forest City 8½-½.

Joe Kulikowski pulled out half points in singles and better-ball on the final hole to secure Riverside’s win.

Mason Rickert and Michael Maslanka combined to take all three points in their foursome.

North Pocono defeated Honesdale, 7½-1½, in a league Class 3A semifinal.

The Trojans will play the winner of the Monday match between top-seeded Abington Heights and Wallenpaupack.
