The Blue Ridge boys finished the opening weekend as the highest-scoring basketball team in District 2.
Getting at least 15 points from 4 different players and hitting at least 20 points in each quarter, Blue Ridge outscored Sayre, 86-70, Saturday afternoon to finish 2-0 in the Susquehanna-Bradford County Challenge.
The Raiders scored at least 20 points in 6 of 8 quarters on opening weekend. Connor Cranage, last season’s NEPABasketball.com Lackawanna League Division 4 Player of the Year, scored at least 20 in each game for the Raiders, starting with that number in a 71-47 romp over defending District 4 Class 2A champion Wyalusing Valley Friday night.
Cranage was at it again less than 24 hours later, scoring 26 points against Sayre.
J.J. Rosa added 18 points while Carson Gallagher, who hit four 3-pointers, and Dylan Bradley added 15 each.
Gallagher hit three of his 3-pointers in the first quarter when Cranage added eight points as Blue Ridge jumped out to a 22-10 lead.
Wyalusing Valley 42, Susquehanna 34
Susquehanna graduate Brent Keyes picked up a coaching win over his alma mater when Blake Morningstar scored 24 points to lead the Rams Saturday night.
Colton Stone led the Sabers with 11 points.
