Loyalsock beats Nanticoke in final

Katie Ryder scored 16 points Thursday night to lead Loyalsock Township past Nanticoke, 40-31, in the championship game of the Judy Knorr Tournament at Berwick.

The Lancers led 30-25 going into the fourth quarter before holding the Trojanettes to one field goal.

Clare Aufiero and Caitlyn Majiros scored 11 points each for Nanticoke while making the all-tournament team.

Ryder made the all-tournament team while teammate Natayah Abdul-Hakim was named Most Valuable Player.

Dallas 45, Berwick 35

Molly Walsh scored 17 points as Dallas won Thursday’s consolation game over host Berwick.

The Lady Mountaineers shot 8-for-10 from the line in the fourth quarter while holding on for the win.

Walsh made the all-tournament team.

Elizabeth Viglone added 12 points in the win.

RaeAnna Andreas scored 14 points an all-tournament choice Rachel Whitenight added 12 for Berwick.

Nanticoke 32, Berwick 31

Majiros scored 13 points to lead the way as Nanticoke got all its scoring from three players during Wednesday’s semifinal win.

Aufiero had 6 of her 10 points in the fourth quarter when the Trojanettes held on after taking a 19-14 lead by outscoring the Lady Bulldogs, 10-2, in the third quarter.

Natalee Atkins scored the other nine points.

Alyssa Lewis led the Berwick comeback attempt, scoring all nine of her points by hitting three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Andreas added eight points in the loss.

Loyalsock Township 44, Dallas 43

Loyalsock Township edged Dallas in the first game of the tournament, a Wednesday semifinal.
